Pupil Council

At Jessop, we believe our pupils are the most important part of school life and we are committed to hearing their views, to ensure all our pupils are happy, successful learners. Please see below the list of the Pupil Council representatives.

The Pupil Council representatives are from Year 2 – Year 6 and have been selected by their classes. They have weekly meetings run by the Chairperson. During their meetings they discuss projects, issues from their classes and also the playground. They are responsible for giving feedback to their individual classes.

The Pupil Council plays a very active part during charity projects such as Jeans for Genes Day, Red Nose Day and Anti Bullying Month. They attend their Black History Month Assemblies and also get in touch with the Pupil Council members within our federation.

This year the Pupil Council was involved in the launch of our new lunch menu. Harrisons did a ‘test a day’ activity where each member had to taste different meals and give their opinion. During the year the Pupil Council will decide on their own projects and how they will run and manage it.

The school council is valued highly by pupils. Ofsted, 2012
